December 2009

Since I haven't been able to blog for a while I decided to just sumerize each month and give you a few pictures to enjoy.

My brother K and his family were able to come for Christmas this year. It was great fun to see them and get to know my nephew K a little better since we haven't seen him since he a few months old. We went to temple square and here is grandpa with the grandkids that were there. We sure did miss J and his family.

R loved his work bench. He loves to use daddy's tools. He asked Santa for one and he was happy that he got it.

A was so excited when she found this Santa gift under the tree. She had been asking for it for ages and ages. Rus was going to make one from scratch, but with his accident this is what we ended up getting.

Once a month Rustin's parents, siblings and a few cousins get together for a Family Home Evening, this was December's. Britt had costumes for each of the kids and we did the nativity, the angel wouldn't stand still for nothing so she isn't in the picture.

During December all of the Cannon's (Rus' mom's family) get together and have a "Santa" party. We have a big dinner and Santa comes. This a 4 generation picture that I took. I think that it turned out really good. You can see the brace Rus had to wear for 6 weeks after his surgery. It was a custom made one that was removable. He had to take it off every day and do exercises so he wouldn't loose so much muscle mass.

Pictures from my phone

One sunday morning about 1 hour before church I had realized that Annalynn had cut her own hair. Wow that was a stessful hour. Knowing I had to be to church to teach my Primary class and had to cut her hair before church. Here a picture of my fixing job of her own hair cut. Can't really see the spots that were bad though.

Chillaxin with grams in the hammock under the apple tree. What a great summer pasttime.

Laying on the grass with daddy in the shade of early evening was so fun. I love the direction of my house for that reason the back yard and patio are always in the afternoon shade.

A lot of times the water/sprinkler got turned on while still in our clothes and so we just played in our clothes. Good thing they dry fast. They were having so much fun that is all I cared about. Clotes dry and wash.

Falling asleep while eating lunch or dinner was a common occurence for Ryan.

Some pictures for this summer that have been on my phone and I have finally downloaded them.

Our summer days were filled with playgroup. Park playing. Walks. Swimming. Riding bikes.

Thanksgiving with the Cannons.

This year for Thanksgiving we went Uncle Tony and Aunt Cindy's house in St. George. It was a lot of fun. All of Carla's siblings were there and so was her dad. There were a lot of cousins that we got to visit. Rustin was one day post-op from his accident. We had to go to to the pharmacy to get a stronger pill as the ones we had were not not touching the pain at all. The kids got to see ducks, goats, dogs and ride horses. They got to jump on the trampoline. Garrison was so wonderful and helpful in helping the kids ride the horses. He actually teaching Annalynn ride by herself. The kids had ton of fun. The food was great. The fun was great. Here are a few pictures of horse riding.

Scary Accident!!

Saturday November 21, 2009 we had an extrememly scary experience in our family. Rustin was helping Bev, a single lady that he works with cut down some dead cottonwood and elm trees in her yard. He was cutting under a split in the tree and his chainsaw got pinched in the cut. He was trying to pull the saw out with his left hand while his buddy was pulling on the branch with the truck and his saw came loose at the same time that the branch started to fall, while falling it grazed him. He lost his balance in this process and fell. He had climbed a 10 foot ladder to get up in the tree so his feet were about 11 feet from the ground and his head was 16 feet from the ground. I was tending his buddies kids and he called and told me to come, because Rustin had fallen out of the tree. I rushed the kids into the suburban and drove as fast as the speed limit would let me. He was about 7 blocks from our house through town. I pulled up and saw the ambulance there and immedietly started freaking out. When I got there Rustin was sitting on a log and they paramedics were cutting his shirt open. It wasn't really warm on Saturday either. They had a neck brace on him. They put him on the board and strapped his head down. Put him in the ambulance and we headed to St. George. I was so greatful for great friends and neighbors who I knew my kids would be safe with. Chase just ran right over to the kids and I didn't worry one bit.

Here is the what happened to his wrist from the fall. It is a very serious fracture.

Before the surgey, comparing the broken and non-broken. As you can see some serious swelling occured.

Here are a picture of the screws and plate in his wrist.
We are so grateful that he wasn't hurt more. This accident could have been so much worse. Thank you for all of your thought, prayers and help in our time of need.

First Snow

In October we had a small snowfall actually 2 of them. The kids were so excited to see snow on the ground. Here are a few pictures of them in the scant amount of snow. It was so beautiful to see everything coverd in snow. Of course we had to get bundled up and go out and play in it. The wind was really cold so it didn't last very long, but at least the kids had some fun in it.

Halloween

Yes, I know it has been awhile since I posted anything, sorry for that. I have tried a few times and things didn't work out. The life of a mother I guess.

So another halloween has past. My mom came up and helped me put plastic on most of my windows. I really hopes that this helps on the power bill. I'm willing to try anything to lower the bills. The kids had so much fun trick-or-treating. I was the one who whimped out. We did 2 steets and then I called Rus to come pick us up so that we could go across town to visit grandma and grandpa.
