Campout

Memorial Day is honored by our family going on a campout. First of the year. I need to incorporate rememberance of our fallen soldiers into this tradition. We had a lot of fun except that Ryan was puking and pooping the whole time. Thanks to Tonia we cam home Sunday afternoon.

We left on Friday afternoon and drove to our destination. It was a reunion for some of Rustin's family. These pictures are on Saturday we went on a awesome 4-wheeler ride and saw lots of wild mustangs again no picture. It rain a lot on Saturday. Anyway we came home smelling like campfire and had fun except for the sickness.

Wood Hauling

A couple of weekends ago we went and got 1 1/2 cords of wood. My mom came with us. We saw wild mustangs... that is such a beautiful sight, maybe one of these days I will get a picture that you can actually see. It was such a beautiful day. The kids had fun playing in the dirt. They didn't want grandma to leave.

The funniest and scariest part was when Rus was falling a tree to cut into logs and his saw got pinched in the tree. Now you have to imagine a tree that has been through a fire, the fire went through fast enough to just burn the bark. The tree is probably about 30 feet high and then you see the chain saw just sticking out of the tree. I got a picture of it, but I think Rus erased it. So he didn't have an extra blade so he and I were pushing on the tree to see if we could get it unpinched, that didn't work. Then Rus decided to get one of his straps and pull the tree. He started pulling and the saw came unpinched, my mom was right there and got the saw. I was heading back to the truck to get more straps, because Rus thought he was going to need more leverage... he didn't. So the tree starts falling after this and my mom starts running but the oppisite way Rus was yelling at her to run. I was watching as if it was all in slow motion. My heart racing, finally I yell over here mom. I imagine my mom's adrenaline was racing so much and she was trying not to hurt the saw that it didn't register that she was going the wrong way.

Well this is a picture of all of the wood that we got. A cord is 8 ft long X 8 ft tall X 4 ft wide to give you a better image. My mom and I loaded most of this wood by ourselves while Rus was cutting it. He did help some. All three of us were very tired by the end of the day.

The Green Machine

Well my camera won't transfer so I have had to copy and paste each individual picture and it has taken me forever that is why it has been so long since I posted.

I thought I would share a few pictures of the John Deere that we used for some yard work. Rus used the bucket to spread manure on the garden spot. He also used it to haul scrap metal to the back lot to be hauled away with the parts truck that no longer has usable parts. I also snapped some pictures with the kids, they love it when they get to go for any kind of ride tractor, 4-wheeler, or otherwise.

Bike Ride

Okay, so I have been trying to get Annalynn to ride her big bike for ages. Her grandparents gave her this bike for her 3rd birthday and she was too short to ride it when she got it. I've known that she has grown enough to ride it, but couldn't convince her that she had grown taller. So I told her that she was to big to ride a 3-wheeler and that it was Ryan's bike now. She was so scared and screaming the whole time. She kept on watching her feet and crashing of the side of the sidewalk. I decided to let her ride it in the road so she couldn't crash off the side of the sidewalk. It was so funny she kept on stopping and then get mad because she stopped. Well here is a video of her bike riding attemt.
